Last bank holiday weekend spent in Sheffield

Dear readers,

In the spirit of the bank holiday weekend, I wanted to share with you my escapades from the one just gone. It really was a rich array of Sheffield based activities, so what better place for it than here?

On Friday I went had some writing work to do so headed down to Rocco on Glossop Road just by the Sheffield University Student Union.

Now Rocco is a recent discovery of mine and one that I have since fallen head over heels in love with. It’s a stylish co-work come cafe/bar with gorgeous wooden/metal mix interior and roof top bar.

The sandwiches there are absolutely to die for – I opted for the goats cheese balsamic dressing with a glass of chenin and got to work (hey, it’s bank holiday weekend after all).

Day two and I took my first ever trip to the Depot Bakery in Kelham Island. I have wanted to try this place for so long, and it’s just as quirky in the day as I remembered from my brief encounter there at the last Peddlr Night Market.

I won’t lie, I was absolutely heartbroken that they had sold out of their famous filled donuts by the time I’d got there but the coffee I had was great. Anywhere that offers 4 different kinds of hot chocolate for a mocha is a winner in my eyes!

Day three and I headed to my favourite coffee shop, Steam Yard with a friend. I tried an oreo filled donut AND took my first ever “flat lay” photo… so I’d say it was a great success all round!

So all in all a super chilled one spent in some lovely Sheffield venues – no partying or anything elaborate, but at least it was super productive! And who doesn’t love three lie ins in a row, eh?

What’s everyone up to this long weekend?

Until next time,
H x
