An invitation I couldn’t refuse passed my way the other week, and as a result I found myself heading down to Nourish, the city center based healthy fast food bar for their Spring Menu Launch event.
Us bloggers were treated to three courses of smoothies, following by five courses of sample dishes (it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it) and a talk from Nourish’s founder and nutritionist, David Stache, who’s passion for his trade and business was honestly extremely refreshing to see.
The concept of “healthy fast food” is in some respects a fairly new one, but the market for it in the past few years has absolutely exploded. Despite this, I think it’s fair to say that there’s nothing quite like Nourish in Sheffield, who offer inventive, balanced meals such as filled sweet potatoes and dishes rich in delicious, healthy superfoods.
I also learnt that they are very active in the local community, having recently launched a “pay it forward” system reward card allowing customers to buy a drink or meal for a homeless person- combined with their Leeds store, they’ve given out over 1000 free meals for the homeless.
And it doesn’t stop there- as part of my goodie bag I got a free dessert voucher, which had be practically running back at the nearest opportunity to same their sweet potatoe brownies. I’ve tried to make these before myself but it was a massive fail, but these ones are absolutely delicious. They do a chocolate avocado mousse as well- definitely one to try in the future.
In summary it was a fantastic event and the menu, for me, is definitely very appealing, as the self-confessed exercise and health addict that I am! If you want delicious food in your lunch break without the guilt factor, Nourish is definitely the place to go (they even have one in Leeds, as well).
Until next time,
