So lord knows I’ve been wanting to do an outfit post for a while now.
Fashion is important to me in the sense that it matters to me that I dress well. It’s not the be all and end all, but as a young professional I thoroughly believe that the better you dress, the better you feel. One of my favorite quotes on the subject comes from Edith Head and reads:
“You can have anything you want in life if you dress for it.”
With that in mind, I recently bought this amazing cape blazer from Brand Attic and felt I’d be doing it an injustice not to feature.
|Lavish Alice Cape Blazer- £48, Brand Attic
Patent heeled monk shoes- £27 ASOS
Turtle neck cropped jumper- £8 New Look
Fitted crepe work trousers- £20 New Look
Black leather doctor bag- £50 Zara
It’s from Lavish Alice, a brand I’ve been fond of since it was stocked in the Ark stores where I worked as a student.
The “distorted stripe” pattern has wide-leg culottes and tailored shorts available that match. I won’t lie, I was absolutely gutted when I tried the culottes and they looked absolutely dreadful on me – the length was all wrong, but equally well the shorts just aren’t appropriate for work in my opinion so on this occasion I’ve (sadly) had to let my love of two pieces go!
One of my staple ways to dress for work is in monochrome with a bright coloured accessory- it’s timeless and doesn’t require much thought. Now that I have a short commute heels too are now an option (office perks!)
I’m a bit of an all of nothing kind of person, so it’s either bold statement prints, plain colours or black and white. There really is no inbetween! The set comes in a variety of different designs from plain to striped variations. Choosing one was a challenge indeed!
If you like what you see, Brand Attic are running a fantastic competition at the moment to win £150 to spend online.
They stock loads of brands including Lavish Alice, Basik, Glamorous, Vera Moda, Vila and even more for the men in your life.
So if you fancy a chance to update your wardrobe for free (erm, yes please) click to be in with a chance of winning.
I hope everyone’s having a great week, and I’ll post again soon.
Until next time,
