So a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to be invited along to Edison’s Coffee, the new coffee shop that’s located just opposite The Sheffield Star, to sample their new menu and give some feedback.
I’d actually been to Edison’s quite a few times as Chris and I often meet there for a coffee during my lunch break as it’s not far from where I work.
I’ve always enjoyed the food so was really excited at the prospect of trying out the new menu and helping to shape it by giving feedback.
The staff who work there as well are always lovely, especially Matt, the Operations Manager, who got in touch to ask me to share word of the event to the Sheffield bloggers community.
On the new menu were delicious paninis, fish finger sandwiches, burgers, sweet potato fries, salads with parma ham.
It was such a varied menu, but favorite panini by far was the chicken, bacon and avocado one. Such a tasty mix but not one I would have ever thought to put together myself. I’ve been a little bit hooked on them ever since!
I can too recommend their amazing cookies that are warmed up and served with ice cream. My favorite is the chocolate chip one, which tastes just like cookie dough. It’s ahhhmazing.
The event was held upstairs in their beautiful function room, the Brockton Suite. It’soften hired out for weddings and I can see why, it really is such a pretty space.
I’ve you’ve not yet been to Edison’s I would definitely recommend a visit.
Not only do they do great tasting food at a reasonable price alongside consistently friendly service, they’re also a social enterprise with all profits going towards providing employment opportunities and community initiatives for vulnerable people.
So, of you want coffee with a conscience, this is the place to go!
