Time to challenge yourself

Dear Sheffielders,

So, this may not be a marathon or anything crazy but for a self-confessed pizza lover AND all round cardio hater (especially anything remotely long-distance) committing to, and training for The Great Manchester Run is in the words of Ron Burgundy “kind of a big deal.”

I’m an avid fan of weight training- I go 3 days a week every other day. However cardio is often a 10, 15 minute cool down exercise for me at the end of my weights workout- it’s never really been something I’ve done properly, and that is why I’m excited for this new challenge of a 10k.

I felt that a 5k was something I could probably do now if I pushed myself (which has in fact been confirmed tonight, during my very first training session), so I needed something harder that would require training without quite reaching half marathon status.

I’ve just finished my first training session tonight and I honestly feel absolutely amazing. One week down, nine to go!

I’ll be keeping you guys up to date on my progress before the run on May 22nd, but in the meantime if any of you lovely readers fancy sponsoring me (no matter how small an amount) I’m running to both set myself a new challenge AND to raise money for the wonderful Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity at the same time.

So, if you would like to sponsor me, here is the link to my Just Giving page

Much love & wish me luck,
H x
